Hi, I’m Peyton!

I’m a Montana-based photographer with a passion for storytelling.

I grew up just south of Missoula, and found early inspiration in the beauty and solitude of the mountains. My very first experience with a camera was on a family trip to Yellowstone; if only I could find those photos! Even though I had no idea what I was doing, there was something so special about being able to look at an image and remember the trip like it just happened. That’s the feeling I strive to create with my images.

In high school, I took an intro class, picked up an entry-level DSLR, and so my journey began! The more I learned, the more I wanted to apply. Before I knew it, I built a portfolio and started booking sessions. I’ve been a portrait photographer since 2018, and working with people is one of my favorite parts of the job.

When I’m not holding my camera (which is rare!), you can find me hiking with my dog, Clove, listening to music and playing piano, or chasing powder at Bridger Bowl.

My Approach

My priority is capturing images that convey memories and emotions to tell a story.

My approach blends natural, unobtrusive photography with thoughtful, intentional storytelling. I focus on connection and comfort — creating gentle space for authentic moments rather than harsh direction and overly-staged poses. Since I’m freezing a moment in time, I find that it’s easier to enjoy the resulting images if you remember having a fun while they were taken.

With an eye for light and landscape, I use environmental elements and subtle prompts to draw out genuine emotion and meaningful interaction. The result is imagery that feels timeless, honest, and deeply personal: photographs that not only document events but reveal the story and feeling behind them.
